What types of delivery vehicles can I use?
You can choose between car, motorcycle and bicycle. It is not possible to deliver on foot and you need to have an access to a vehicle at all times while delivering for us.

No, you don’t need to purchase the gear upfront. However, there is a deposit of 700 NOK that gets deducted from your first payment.

Start session 💪
First you have to book a session, you can do this by going to “look for available sessions”.
You can go online half an hour before the session starts. You do this by getting to a start zone, where it is located will also be displayed in the app.
We have a feature in the app that shows you where you can receive the most orders in your city. They appear as “hot spots” on your map.
Once you are in one of these locations, you will most likely receive a lot of orders.
Note! You must always start your shift within a starting zone before moving on to one of these locations
If you have taken a session that you still cannot complete, you have the option to change it in the app, so that another driver can take it.
What if no one takes my session?
If no one chooses to take the session you want to remove, it may affect your score.
Based on previous performance, all couriers are ranked and placed into different batches. The higher your batch, the higher your priority and the earlier you can book available sessions. Each period lasts for a week and the batch is automatically calculated and displayed in the app every Monday, taking into account the previous week’s performance (from Monday to Sunday).
To ensure a fairer reflection of each couriers’ performance, starting from Monday 20th November (taking into account the performance from the week starting on 13th November and ending on 19th November), the batch system will be adjusted based on the criteria below:
Inactive couriers: All couriers that did not complete any session in the previous period
New couriers: All couriers that have just joined foodora (first 28 days since the activation day)
Please take a look at the graphic below in order to understand which factors and parameters are taking into account and the weight that each one has in the batch calculation:
Important notes
Early login DOES NOT affect attended or planned hours
Late logout DOES NOT affect attended or planned hours
Late login, breaks or early logout CANNOT be compensated by starting sessions earlier or delaying the last order of a, session
Automated session extension AFFECTS planned hours (increasing it)
Factors that can decrease your score
Late login: log in later than the planned session start time
Break: request a break or being put on break due to other issues
Early logout: request to end the session earlier than the planned session ending time
No show: not attend a planned session (doesn’t apply if it was successfully swapped)
Under all the circumstances above, the score will be impacted: the ‘Actual vs Planned’ component will be lower due to the reduction of attended hours, while planned hours remain unchanged.
Swapping sessions
Swap means offering a booked session for other couriers to take it. All sessions that are offered for swapp earlier than 3 days from the session date will be successfully swapped automatically, without the need of other couriers accepting it.
If a session is successfully swapped (another courier takes that session), this session will no longer affect your scoring, since the successfully swapped session hours will no longer be counted as planned hours.
However, if the session offered for swap is not successfully taken by another courier, the session hours will be counted as planned hours and impact your scoring.
What can you do to improve your score?
Special hours:
Make sure you work the maximum amount of hours between 5pm and 10pm on both Saturdays and Sundays
These are the times with the highest number of orders and highest pay per order, meaning that you will receive more orders, earn more money and also improve your score
If you work during 8 of these 10hs in a week, your score will be 8 / 10 = 80% in this parameter
Actual vs Planned:
Make sure that once you book a session, you work during the whole extent of the session (during all booked minutes)
Show up for all your booked sessions, avoid missing any of the sessions
If you have any issue and cannot attend a session, make sure you offer it for swap in advance, so that other couriers can book this same session
Login to your session on time or even a few minutes before the booked starting time to avoid late login
Avoid logging out before the end of your session, stay until the booked end time to avoid early logout
Avoid putting yourself on break excessively during a session, the lower the break time, the better your score
If you booked a total of 25 hours considering all booked sessions in a week and worked during 23 of these booked hours, your score will be 23 / 25 = 92% in this parameter
Acceptance Rate:
Make sure that you accept and deliver the highest number of orders that are dispatched to you
If you received 60 orders in a week and accepted 57 of them, your score will be 95% in this parameter
Utilization Rate (UTR):
Do not speed or rush during the delivery process, since orders can be dispatched at any time during the delivery process, delivering an order a couple of minutes faster WILL NOT increase your chances of receiving new orders
Make sure you work on high-demand periods (usually from 5pm to 10pm), specially on Sundays when the amount of orders is higher than usual
Make sure you accept all orders dispatched to you, specially if they are stacked together, so you can deliver more orders simultaneously
Make sure to use the heat map to always position yourself in the hottest part of your zone (i.e. closer to the restaurants that receive more orders)
Avoid positioning yourself at the edge of the zone or far from the busiest restaurants, so you can receive more orders
